RHINO was created in 2001 to connect individuals and organizations working to strengthening routine health information systems (RHIS) around the world. In 2006, we incorporated as a US 501(c)3 nonprofit. We are the first global network for RHIS professionals, and currently have development of Regional RHINOs underway through partnerships with existing regional eHealth and HIS networks. You can read our history for more about how we started and where we’re going.
The impact of the RHINO network depends wholly on the engagement of our members, who include individuals from countries around the world working in government, NGOS, and the private sector. Anyone is welcome to join our RHINO community as an individual, and we also offer organizational membership tiers if you’d like to get more involved. If you want to join, or have colleagues with whom you work every day and who have expressed interest in RHIS, please ask them to join our community.
We want the RHINO forums, listserv announcements and bibliography to be useful to you and welcome your suggestions and ideas on the services RHINO can deliver to you. Some ideas for input we’d love to hear from you:
- Have an idea for a RHINO discussion forum?
- A recommendation of a new RHIS story or personal profile to highlight in our newsletter?
- A new resource for the bibliography?
We welcome your questions and suggestions on RHIS strengthening in your country, how our RHINO team can serve our members, and how we can improve our resources – just contact us and we’ll be in touch.
